Boat and leisure market showcased at the Mersey River Festival
The Northern Boat Show, being held on 31st May to 2nd June 2019, is part of the Mersey River Festival and will give visitors the chance to see all types of ways of getting on the water and enjoying leisure time. Whether you want to kayak, sail, flotilla sail or cruise along the canals, there’s something for the whole family at Liverpool’s Salthouse Dock.
The Northern Boat Show covers the inland and offshore markets with the inland market becoming an increasingly important part of the Show. Local canal boat builders Aintree and Collingwood Boat Builders will lead the way with displays of their latest narrow boats and wide beams with all sorts of accessories and services from Kings Lock Chandlery, Willow Boat Painting to Caldwells.
The leisure market is well represented with Thornley Leisure Parks, Lakeland Leisure and Sailing Holidays offering different ways of spending your time, be it on caravans, boats or canals. If you already have a boat there are maritime suppliers that cater for everything from deck shoes to marinas where you can moor your boat. You can even have a free sailing ‘taster session’ on a Drascombe supplied by Liverpool Watersports Centre.
The last Mersey River Festival welcomed over 200,000 of visitors and played host to a range of visiting boats and nautical themed events, from yacht and raft racing, canoe polo, windsurfing, power boating, paddle boarding, wake boarding to flyboarding, as well as live music on Liverpool’s Pier Head presenting a host of local and international talent.
Richard Milbourn, Event Director of the Northern Boat Show said, “It’s great entertainment for all the family and most importantly it’s all free. You can register for free pontoon tickets to see the boats on the pontoons enabling you to become inspired to get on the water, whether you’ve never owned a boat before or an experienced skipper.”
